The Journey of Nisarg Patel – From Curious Mind to Software Developer
Hi, I’m Nisarg Patel, a software developer based in Brampton. I’ve always believed that growth comes from curiosity, challenges, and consistency. This is a short story of how I started, what I went through, and where I want to go.
How It All Started
I wasn’t born coding. In fact, I didn’t even know what programming was until I started getting interested in how websites and apps work. I always loved technology and wanted to understand what happens behind the screen. The first time I wrote a few lines of HTML and saw it on a browser, it felt like magic. That’s when I knew – I want to create things like this.
The Learning Phase
I joined Sheridan College and started studying Computer Systems – Software Development and Network Engineering. In the beginning, it was all new. New language, new country, new challenges. I spent nights watching YouTube tutorials, reading docs, and building small projects. I failed a lot. Some days I felt like giving up. But each bug I fixed and every project I completed gave me confidence.
I also completed certifications in Azure, MCSA, and full stack development. These helped me understand both frontend and backend technologies better.
Real Work, Real Lessons
I started working at WebX, first as a Front-End Developer and then as a Full Stack Developer. It was a turning point for me. I was working on live projects, managing both client needs and deadlines. I got hands-on experience in React, Node.js, PHP, MongoDB, and more. I also learned how to work in a team, communicate clearly, and solve problems efficiently.
Projects That Matter
Apart from job work, I always enjoyed personal projects. Some of my favorites:
-
Link Me – A social media platform I created, kind of like a mix of Instagram and Facebook.
-
News App – Built using React and Vite, showing trending headlines.
-
To-Do App – Simple, clean, and made just with frontend tech.
-
Tangy Sauce Website – For my own startup brand, where I handled everything from design to deployment.
Each project taught me something new – not just coding, but patience, design thinking, and how to think from a user’s point of view.
What Drives Me
What keeps me going is the love for learning. This field changes every day – new tools, new frameworks, new ways to solve old problems. I like staying updated, improving my skills, and helping others when I can. I also find motivation in small wins – fixing a tough bug, launching a project, or just seeing someone use something I built.
What’s Next?
Right now, I’m exploring new roles, especially remote opportunities where I can grow more and bring value to a team. I want to keep building, keep learning, and someday create something big that helps thousands of people.
Thanks for reading my journey. If you’re someone starting out or struggling – I’ve been there too. Keep going. Stay curious. You’ll make it.
